This artwork was created for the 2023 conference of the Australian Society for Parasitology which will be held in Darwin, Northern Territory.

The brief for this painting was to '“marry place with parasite”. Elements of the Top End are included with parasites relevant to the area. In the painting background is an iconic Territory sunset with rich, vibrant colours. In the foreground, to the left of the wording, is a local helminth (Strongyloides stercoralis) wrapped around a tropical palm tree - size not to scale. Crawling from the palm to the conference title is a scabies mite, ready to burrow its way into your hearts…or skin.
